Israeli Settlers Attack European Diplomatic Convoy in West Bank

Israeli settlers attacked a convoy of European diplomats touring the occupied West Bank on Saturday. During the incident, rioters beat Bernard Baudoux, the 78-year-old mayor of the French town Aulnoye-Aymeries. Footage of the attack showed Baudoux slumped against a vehicle, though diplomats later reported that his injuries were not life-threatening.

The Israeli Defense Forces condemned the attack and launched an investigation, noting that no soldiers were present at the scene when the violence occurred. Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also condemned the "severe acts of violence" by the rioters in the area of Taybeh.

While condemning the settlers, Saar criticized the European delegation for failing to coordinate their visit with the Israeli military.
