Alipay Launches Full-Stack AI Payment Infrastructure for Agentic Commerce
Alipay debuted an AI payment infrastructure featuring an AI Wallet and Token Pay, serving over 100 million users and 300 million transactions.
Alipay launched a full-stack AI payment infrastructure on May 26, 2026, built to power the emerging agentic commerce ecosystem. The rollout introduces two core services: the AI Wallet, which lets consumers monitor and control payments executed by AI agents on their behalf, and Token Pay, a B2B solution enabling AI model companies to manage global subscriptions and token top-ups. To safeguard these transactions, Alipay deployed an intelligent security system alongside China's first Agentic Commerce Trust Protocol.
AI model companies MiniMax and Stepfun have already adopted the solution for membership subscriptions and marketing campaigns. The platform's reach extends beyond pure AI firms, integrating with smart glasses, AI development platforms, and traditional retailers such as Luckin Coffee. Scale signals traction: as of February 2026, Alipay AI Pay had surpassed 100 million users and processed 300 million transactions. Ant Group CEO Cyril Hanouna announced the new services, while Zhu Lin, general manager of Alipay's AI payment business, characterized payments as an embedded capability within AI commerce rather than a standalone function.
