Moderna Shares Double After Positive Cancer Vaccine Results
Moderna shares surged after the company announced positive initial results for an experimental mRNA-based cancer vaccine developed in partnership with Merck.
Moderna shares more than doubled on Wednesday following the announcement of initial results from a study of intismeran, an experimental mRNA-based cancer vaccine. Developed in partnership with Merck, the treatment is designed to be tailored to individual patients based on unique mutations found within their tumors.
In the current studies, the vaccine is being paired with Keytruda, an immunotherapy drug produced by Merck. If the treatment receives regulatory approval, it would be the first of its kind to enter the market.
