Unofficial DLSS 5.0.1 Mod Allegedly Breaks RTX 5080 GPU

A Reddit user reported the total hardware failure of an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card following the installation of an unofficial version of DLSS 5.0.1. The user attempted to integrate the software into Grand Theft Auto 5 using the ReoDx wrapper to manually replace the original DLSS DLL file, while simultaneously running several visual modifications, including the LSPDFR police mod.

During the second day of testing, the system experienced a freeze and intense screen flashing. The computer subsequently failed to power up whenever the GPU was installed. While the user attributes the damage to the unofficial software, other community members argue the failure may have been a coincidence or caused by pre-existing hardware instability that was triggered by the increased workload of the combined mods.
