Lucid Group Shares Drop 10% After CEO Announces Operational Reset

Lucid Group shares fell over 10% after CEO Silvio Napoli announced a strategic shift toward cash flow improvement and robotaxi development.

Lucid Group shares declined more than 10% following the release of second-quarter financial results and the announcement of an operational reset. Silvio Napoli, who has served as CEO for two months, is shifting the company's strategy away from prioritizing the luxury Air sedan and Gravity SUV, citing their limited market appeal.

Napoli's new strategy centers on four priorities, including a $1.4 billion cash flow improvement plan and the advancement of the Midsize, AMP-2, and Robotaxi programs. To execute the robotaxi initiative, Lucid is collaborating with Uber Technologies Inc. and Nuro Inc.

The company is also expanding manufacturing capabilities at its AMP-2 facility in Saudi Arabia to produce a more affordable vehicle model. Napoli stated the company is returning to basics with a focus on cash, customers, and culture to establish a foundation for the company's next chapter.
