Anthropic PBC Prepares IPO With Potential $2 Trillion Valuation
Anthropic PBC is preparing to file for an initial public offering following a private market valuation of $965 billion.
AI developer Anthropic PBC is preparing to file for an initial public offering in the coming days. The creator of the Claude chatbot has reached a private market valuation of $965 billion, though some projections suggest its public valuation could reach $2 trillion.
The IPO is expected to generate massive returns for the company's seven billionaire co-founders, thousands of employees, and a group of high-profile investors. Iconiq holds a stake worth approximately $17 billion, while Spark Capital's $75 million investment from 2023 is now valued at $7 billion. Other major backers include Sequoia Capital, which invested $3 billion in early 2026 for a 1% stake, and the Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC, which invested over $4.5 billion and partnered with the company to build data centers.
Additional significant investments came from Sound Ventures, LLC, which contributed $35 million in 2023 and $400 million in later rounds. Technology giants Alphabet Inc., Amazon.com Inc., and Nvidia Corp also hold stakes. The move comes amid broader concerns regarding a potential AI market bubble, though the offering is expected to fuel further investment in the sector.
