Nigel Farage Pursues Legal Action Amid Conservative Pact Dispute

Nigel Farage announced legal action against a production company while refusing to rule out a post-election alliance with Kemi Badenoch's Conservative Party.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage announced legal proceedings against Verbatim Investigations, a production company used by Channel 4 News. The move follows a Reform UK internal review which concluded the party did not break electoral laws regarding foreign donations, contradicting a Channel 4 report. While the review found a proposed £500,000 foreign donation never occurred, it noted that two senior figures made "wrong, careless" statements. Farage alleged that the production company encouraged staff to break the law and confirmed that policy head James Orr and aide Dan Jukes remain suspended pending a police inquiry.

On the political front, Farage declined to rule out a post-election pact with the Conservative Party. He described a pre-election agreement as "extremely unlikely" but remained open to possibilities after the vote. This stance follows a rejection from Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, who dismissed the idea of such an alliance during her party conference speech.

Farage also responded to suggestions from Prime Minister Andy Burnham regarding the possibility of the United Kingdom rejoining the European Union, indicating a readiness to oppose such a move.
