Qatar LNG Tanker Transits Red Sea Bound for Poland
A QatarEnergy LNG tanker is sailing through the Red Sea to deliver cargo to Poland's Orlen SA despite risks of Houthi rebel attacks.
A liquefied natural gas tanker carrying cargo from QatarEnergy is sailing north through the Red Sea toward Poland. The vessel loaded its cargo in August and is making a rare transit through waters vulnerable to Houthi rebel attacks to expedite delivery to European customers.
The shipment is destined for Orlen SA, which maintains a long-term supply contract with the state-owned Qatari energy company. This delivery follows a period of disruption; previous shipments under the same agreement were canceled after drone strikes hit the Ras Laffan plant in March.
