ESET and Tanium Launch AI Security Tools at Black Hat 2026

Cybersecurity firms ESET and Tanium announced new AI-driven security capabilities at the Black Hat USA 2026 conference in Las Vegas to address the risks posed by autonomous AI agents. Both companies characterized ungoverned AI agents as an emerging attack surface that requires strict governance to prevent AI-accelerated threats.

ESET introduced a suite of tools to secure the AI ecosystem, including AI Agent Security for supply chain inspection, AI Behavioral Monitoring to block suspicious actions, and AI Conversation Security to stop data leakage from generative AI. These features will be integrated into the ESET PROTECT portfolio starting September 30.

Tanium unveiled updates to its Autonomous IT Platform through Tanium Atlas, featuring Background AI Agents and Agentic Performance Analysis. The company also launched a private preview integration with Google Threat Intelligence to improve the speed of threat hunting and remediation. These developments reflect a broader industry shift toward treating AI as a distinct class of actor within corporate environments that requires the same security scrutiny as human users and endpoints.
