Janicki Industries Breaks Ground on $800 Million Montana Campus

Janicki Industries began construction on a 180-acre manufacturing facility in Great Falls, Montana, expected to create 2,000 jobs and revive the local industrial sector.

Janicki Industries broke ground on Friday, July 10, 2026, on a new $800 million manufacturing campus in the Agri Tech Park of Great Falls, Montana. The 1.6 million square foot facility, the company's first in the state, will specialize in large-scale composite structures for the aerospace, defense, and energy sectors. The project is projected to create 2,000 jobs upon completion, with an initial hiring phase of approximately 200 people prioritizing local candidates and veterans.

Local officials describe the investment as the largest in the history of Cascade County regarding employment and wages. The campus is viewed as a strategic effort to restore industrial capacity lost after the closure of the Anaconda Copper Company smelter and the decline of the Great Northern rail yards. This expansion adds to the company's existing operations across four campuses in Washington and one in Utah.

During a community forum at Great Falls College, company executives and the Great Falls Development Alliance addressed resident concerns over housing and education. Jolene Schalper of the alliance noted that the Janicki announcement has already accelerated three other local housing and job projects that had been stalled for several years.
