PwC US and PwC India Form Consulting Joint Venture
PwC US and PwC India are merging their India-based consulting and advisory capabilities into a joint venture employing 40,000 people.
PwC US and PwC India have signed an agreement to establish a consulting joint venture that merges PwC India's consulting business with the India-based Acceleration Centers of PwC US. The new entity will employ approximately 40,000 professionals and aims to integrate strategy, technology, engineering, and artificial intelligence services to better serve global clients and the global capability centre segment.
PwC US will hold a 50.1 percent stake in the venture, while PwC India will hold 49.9 percent. Despite the ownership split, operating control will remain with PwC India. Sanjeev Krishan, the current Chairperson of PwC India, will serve as the chief executive of the joint venture. The move is part of a broader goal for the network to triple revenue by 2030.
Reports on the immediate financial impact vary, with some sources projecting $1.5 billion in revenue upon launch, while others suggest the business will grow from $1.3 billion to approximately $2 billion on day one. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals from bodies including the Competition Commission of India. Until the closure, both firms will continue to operate under their existing structures.
