American Bitcoin Reports $57.2 Million Second Quarter Loss

American Bitcoin reported a $57.2 million loss for the second quarter despite doubling revenue and increasing its cryptocurrency holdings.

American Bitcoin, a cryptocurrency mining company backed by the sons of Donald Trump, reported a second-quarter loss of $57.2 million on Monday. This follows a $3.4 million profit recorded during the same period last year. The deficit was primarily driven by an 11% decline in Bitcoin prices between April and June, which occurred as geopolitical tensions pushed investors toward risk-off assets.

Despite the quarterly loss, the company's revenue more than doubled to approximately $67 million, up from $30.3 million a year earlier. Operational metrics showed growth, with the firm mining a record 932 bitcoin during the quarter. These activities increased the company's total holdings by 14% to over 8,000 coins.

CEO Mike Ho attributed the results to market volatility, stating that the firm remained focused on controllable factors despite the headwinds faced in the second quarter.
