Oracle reported a remaining performance obligation of approximately $664 billion at the end of its last fiscal quarter, which is roughly 9.2 times its trailing-12-month sales of $71.8 billion. This backlog, alongside a 130% year-over-year increase in deferred revenue, suggests that recognized revenue growth will likely accelerate. The company is guiding for 34% revenue growth and 19% earnings growth this year.
Despite these projections, Oracle faces significant customer concentration risk, as approximately $300 billion of its backlog is tied to a single contract with OpenAI.
