Samsung Unveils Wide View Foldable and 300Hz OLED Panels
Samsung Display showcased a Wide View foldable OLED panel and the world's largest stretchable display at the IMID 2026 expo in Busan.
Samsung Display introduced a 7.6-inch Wide View OLED panel for foldable devices at the International Meeting on Information Display (IMID) 2026 in Busan. The technology uses redesigned materials and an updated organic light-emitting structure to eliminate brightness degradation and image quality loss at folding areas and curved edges. While current commercial foldables can see brightness drop to 40 percent in curved sections, the new panel provides uniform image quality across all viewing angles.
The company also debuted the world's largest stretchable display, a 20-inch panel created via tiling technology for use in automotive cockpits, digital signage, and humanoid robots. Other hardware reveals included a 16-inch OLED panel for gaming laptops featuring a 300Hz refresh rate and 2.5K resolution, alongside 31.5-inch 4K and 34-inch ultrawide QD-OLED panels supporting 360Hz variable refresh rates.
Further exhibits focused on AI integration, including a necklace-style OLED pendant and a 6.9-inch humanoid display equipped with eye-tracking capabilities. Jo Sung-chan, head of the company's research center, delivered a keynote address regarding the evolution of displays in the AI era.
