Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is competing to become the 71st governor of Ohio, facing Democratic nominee Amy Acton and Libertarian candidate Don Kissick. With an estimated net worth of $2.2 billion, Ramaswamy's wealth comes from Roivant Sciences, a drug-development company he founded in 2014, and Chapter, a Medicare-navigation company co-founded in 2020. Forbes estimates he liquidated approximately $1.2 billion in Roivant shares over the past year, leaving him with $1.3 billion in cash and liquid securities.

Financial status has become a central campaign issue. Amy Acton has criticized Ramaswamy's use of private jets and his billionaire status. Ramaswamy has defended his success, stating he was not born into wealth and believes in celebrating success.
