Samsung Expands Privacy Display to New Galaxy S27 Pro

Samsung Electronics is expanding its Privacy Display technology to a new Galaxy S27 Pro model and upgrading the feature for the S27 Ultra.

Samsung Electronics is expanding its Privacy Display technology to a new flagship tier, the Galaxy S27 Pro, for its upcoming 2027 smartphone lineup. Previously exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the technology uses Flex Magic Pixel to narrow viewing angles, making screen content difficult to see from the side. The S27 Pro will serve as a compact alternative to the S27 Ultra, sharing the same camera system but omitting S Pen support.

Recent reports and leaked CAD files indicate that both the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra will feature an upgraded version of the Privacy Display. This iteration aims to resolve brightness bottlenecks and legibility issues found in the first-generation screen, specifically improving visibility in sunlight. Samsung began producing 700,000 of these new display units in November. The standard Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus models will not receive the privacy feature.

The Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to include a 6.89-inch display, a 5,700 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 60W wired charging, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme chipset. It may also feature a redesigned rectangular camera bar positioned higher on the back panel to improve magnetic accessory compatibility, potentially replacing the 3x telephoto lens with a 5x optical zoom lens. The series is expected to launch between late January and late February 2027.
