APGA Candidate Withdraws to Endorse APC's Bola Oyebamiji

Prince Adesina Adeyemi-Doro, the gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, withdrew from the Osun State governorship race on Saturday. During a youth interactive session in Osogbo, Adeyemi-Doro announced his decision to endorse Bola Oyebamiji, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress, for the upcoming August 15 election.

Adeyemi-Doro stated that the move followed extensive consultations with his party's state chairman, secretary, and senior members. He described the alignment as a natural step, noting that the parties are all progressives. Oyebamiji accepted the endorsement and pledged to integrate APGA members into his future administration while expressing a desire to build a broader coalition with other political parties to replace the current state government.

Issah Adedotun Niniola, Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, described the alliance as a milestone. Niniola claimed the move would not only secure victory for Oyebamiji in the state election but also strengthen the prospects of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential polls.
