Jim Cramer Warns Massive AI IPOs Could Derail Bull Market
Jim Cramer warned that a surge of massive AI IPOs and capital raises could exhaust investor liquidity and threaten the current bull market.
CNBC host Jim Cramer warned on Monday that a wave of massive initial public offerings and capital raises could derail the current bull market. The warning follows the filing of an IPO prospectus by Anthropic, one of the most anticipated debuts on Wall Street.
Cramer argued that while current AI companies possess genuine demand and established businesses, unlike the speculative startups of the 2000 dot-com bust, the sheer volume of capital being sought could exhaust investor buying power. He expressed concern that fundraising efforts from companies including Anthropic, OpenAI, Meta, Alphabet, SpaceX, and Oracle could absorb liquidity that would otherwise support the S&P 500.
While Cramer stated he is not calling a market top, he cautioned that both debt and equity markets may be running out of money to finance corporate ambitions before investors realize a payoff.
