Tata Consultancy Services Secures Global Network Deal With ABB

Tata Consultancy Services signed a multi-year contract to modernize ABB's global network operations using an AI-enabled network-as-a-service model.

Tata Consultancy Services signed a multi-million-dollar, multi-year contract with Swiss engineering and automation firm ABB to modernize and manage its global network operations. The agreement implements an AI-enabled network-as-a-service model as a core component of the Future Network Model programme, which seeks to standardize and centralize ABB's global infrastructure.

The engagement expands the role of the IT services provider beyond application and infrastructure management. The new scope includes designing a global network ecosystem, establishing a global network operations center, and modernizing LAN, WAN, and software-defined WAN systems. This deal extends a 20-year partnership that previously focused on cloud modernization, SAP transformation, and ERP consolidation.

Anupam Singhal, President of Manufacturing at Tata Consultancy Services, stated the AI-driven approach aims to build a resilient, intelligent network backbone. Alec Joannou, Group CIO of ABB, described the initiative as an important milestone in reinforcing the digital foundation of the company's global operations to align with long-term transformation goals.
