Wendy's Beats Q3 Earnings Amid Declining US Sales
Wendy's Co. exceeded third-quarter financial expectations despite a 5.7% drop in U.S. comparable sales and negative store traffic.
Wendy's Co. reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $547 million and adjusted earnings per share of $0.13, surpassing Wall Street expectations. The financial beat occurred despite a 5.7% decline in comparable sales within the United States and ongoing negative store traffic.
To counter these trends, CEO Bob Wright is implementing a turnaround strategy called Dave’s Way. The initiative focuses on enhancing food quality, marketing efforts, and customer value to stabilize the company's market position.
Financial analysts responded to the results by raising price targets for the company's shares. BMO Capital increased its target to $9.00, and Stephens raised its target to $8.00 from $7.00. Both firms maintained neutral ratings, with Stephens stating that while management is moving in the right direction, significant execution risk remains and concrete proof of success is required before a more constructive outlook is adopted.
