Roche and Hansoh Ink $15 Billion Cancer Drug Deal

Roche and Hansoh Pharmaceutical Group entered a strategic collaboration to develop antibody-drug conjugate cancer programs with potential payments exceeding $15 billion.

Pharmaceutical giant Roche and Hansoh Pharmaceutical Group signed a strategic collaboration and license agreement on October 19, 2026, to develop antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) programs for cancer treatment. The deal includes an upfront payment of $400 million to Hansoh and a $110 million payment on the first anniversary, with potential milestone payments for development and commercialization exceeding $15 billion.

The agreement covers two preclinical ADC programs from Hansoh and several additional programs based on targets proposed by Roche using Hansoh's proprietary technology platform. Hansoh will manage initial development through Phase Ia studies worldwide and retains all rights to development and commercialization in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Roche will lead development in all other global markets.

This marks the second ADC-focused agreement between the two companies, following previous work on colorectal cancer therapies. The partnership comes as Chinese drug developers continue to secure high-value licensing deals despite recent Chinese government proposals to implement export controls on certain biomedical technologies.
