JD Vance Announces Broad Anti-Fraud Initiative and Voter ID Deal
Vice President JD Vance unveiled a government-wide anti-fraud task force targeting Medicaid and H1-B visa abuse while offering a deal to end election fraud disputes.
Vice President JD Vance announced a broad-based anti-fraud initiative led by the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud during a press conference in Milwaukee. The administration is targeting significant spikes in suspected Medicaid fraud, particularly regarding skin grafts, tissues, and organ transplants. Vance reported that claims in these categories rose from $200 million to $14.4 billion over six years, leading the task force to vet and deny 96% of such claims.
Mehmet Oz, Administrator of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, identified 4,200 fraudulent claims totaling $224 million involving unnecessary or overpriced equipment. Beyond healthcare, the task force is expanding its scope to target fraud within the H1-B visa program to protect taxpayer funds.
Vance also connected the fraud initiative to political negotiations, stating he would stop discussing election fraud if Democrats agree to pass the Save America Act to implement voter ID requirements.
