SpaceX Launches Final Three SES O3b mPOWER Satellites

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched the final three satellites of the O3b mPOWER constellation for SES on September 13, 2026. Departing from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, the mission deployed Boeing-built satellites F11, F12, and F13, bringing the medium Earth orbit (MEO) constellation to a total of 13 spacecraft.

The launch marked SpaceX's 700th Falcon rocket launch and the 400th orbital launch from SLC-40. The first-stage booster, B1080, successfully landed on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean. The new satellites are expected to enter service by mid-2027, providing connectivity ranging from tens of Mbps to multiple gigabits per second for government, enterprise, and mobility customers.

This completion follows previous electrical issues with earlier satellites that required design changes and the addition of two extra spacecraft to the constellation. Beyond immediate connectivity, the expanded network will support future MEO capabilities, including space-data relay, hosted payload applications, and sovereign, secure communications.
