Invenergy Donates Backpacks to Grays Harbor Students
Invenergy provided all backpacks for the Back to School Marketplace, contributing to a five-year total of over 5,000 backpacks for local students.
Invenergy donated all backpacks for the Back to School Marketplace for the fifth consecutive year. Through its Grays Harbor Energy Center, the company has provided more than 5,000 backpacks to students across Grays Harbor and north Pacific counties over the last five years.
This year's event expects to serve at least 1,300 students by providing free clothing, shoes, and school supplies. Laney Mortimeyer, executive director of the nonprofit, stated that the partnership allows the organization to remove barriers to education while giving children the confidence, dignity, and hope they deserve as they begin a new school year.
Mortimeyer noted that the continued support from Invenergy allows the marketplace to focus its fundraising efforts on other essential items for the students.
