Kuwait Intercepts Multiple Missiles and Drones Over Two Days

Kuwaiti forces intercepted multiple ballistic missiles and drones over two consecutive days during military exchanges between Iran and the United States in the Gulf region.

The Kuwait Armed Forces intercepted a series of aerial threats on July 8 and 9, 2026, amid escalating military exchanges between Iran and the United States. On Wednesday, July 8, air defense systems detected and neutralized two ballistic missiles and 13 drones that breached Kuwaiti airspace at dawn. The Ministry of Defense reported no casualties or material damage during this initial wave.

A second wave of attacks occurred at dawn on Thursday, July 9. Kuwaiti forces intercepted three ballistic missiles, one cruise missile, and 10 hostile drones. Unlike the previous day, this incident resulted in one person being injured in stable condition and material damage caused by falling shrapnel.

Iranian state media claimed Tehran targeted U.S. military infrastructure in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. Bahraini authorities confirmed they intercepted aerial threats and activated warning sirens throughout Thursday morning. The Kuwait Ministry of Defence maintains that military personnel remain in a state of continuous operational readiness to protect national sovereignty.
