Google Pixel Watch 5 Leaks Reveal 3GB RAM Upgrade
Google will reportedly launch the Pixel Watch 5 on August 12 with increased RAM for AI features but the same processor as previous models.
Leaked Google Play Console listings for the upcoming Pixel Watch 5, codenamed godric, reveal that Google will maintain most hardware specifications from the Pixel Watch 4. The smartwatch will reportedly utilize the Qualcomm SW5100 platform, featuring four Cortex-A53 CPU cores and an Adreno 702 GPU, the same processor used in the Pixel Watch 2, 3, and 4.
The primary hardware upgrade is an increase in RAM to 3GB, a 50 percent boost over the 2GB found in previous models. This addition is intended to support on-device AI features and Gemini Intelligence, potentially improving responsiveness. The device may also introduce new Dark Anthracite and Pyrite color options.
Despite the recycled processor, the Pixel Watch 5 may see a price increase of approximately $50, potentially retailing for $400. The device is expected to be unveiled on August 12 at the Made by Google event alongside the Pixel 11 series smartphones. It will face competition from the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9, which utilizes the more powerful Snapdragon Wear Elite processor.
