Pakistan and Azerbaijan Send Congratulations for Singapore National Day

President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan extended formal congratulations to Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and the Singaporean government in honor of the country's 61st National Day on August 9, 2026.

In his correspondence, Zardari praised Singapore's innovation and resilience in nation-building and economic transformation. His message coincided with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Singapore. Zardari identified several priority sectors for expanded bilateral cooperation, including maritime and logistics connectivity, green technology, the digital economy, tourism, urban planning, and vocational training.

President Ilham Aliyev also sent a letter to President Shanmugaratnam, which was delivered on August 6, 2026. Aliyev extended greetings on behalf of the Azerbaijani people and offered wishes for the health and success of the Singaporean president, as well as continued peace and prosperity for the nation.
