PNC Financial Services is investing approximately $2.5 billion to expand its physical branch network, aiming to open more than 370 new locations by 2031. The expansion focuses heavily on the Southeast, with over 50 new branches planned for South Carolina and Georgia, including significant buildouts in Columbia, Charleston, and Greenville.
Beyond the primary regional push, the bank will open 10 additional locations across Texas, Florida, and North Carolina. Starting in 2027, the company intends to open 60 branches annually while simultaneously renovating existing sites. This growth strategy is expected to create 2,400 new jobs.
The physical expansion coincides with the rollout of a new mobile app, as the bank seeks to balance digital banking capabilities with in-person hospitality. Executives state the move is designed to deepen client relationships and meet strong demand for personalized banking services in some of the country's fastest-growing markets.
