Barack Obama to Campaign for Democrats in Detroit

Barack Obama will campaign in Detroit on October 24 to support Democratic candidates in Michigan before the November 3 election. The rally focuses on bolstering U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in a race described as tight.

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, who is running for governor, will also appear at the event. This appearance follows a campaign event held by former Vice President Kamala Harris with El-Sayed approximately one month prior.

The Michigan Democratic Party views the state as critical to its efforts to retake control of the U.S. Senate.
