Bhupendra Patel Tours North America to Attract Foreign Investment
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is visiting the United States and Canada to secure investments ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is leading a high-level delegation on a week-long tour of the United States and Canada to strengthen global partnerships and attract foreign investment ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027. The visit focuses on aligning regional growth with the vision of a developed India by 2047.
During the U.S. leg of the trip, Patel visited San Francisco, Washington, D.C., New York, and New Jersey. He met with executives from Google, Micron, and Walmart, and held roundtables with institutional investors and the gems and jewelry sector. In New Jersey, he participated in the Garvi Gujarat Global New Jersey program and a Young CEO Meet, where he urged the Gujarati diaspora to partner in the state's development. He also visited the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville to tour a museum under construction.
Patel detailed a development roadmap for Gujarat through 2047, which divides the state into six zones with specific growth targets. He noted that Gujarat currently contributes 8.2 percent to India's GDP and aims to exceed 10 percent by 2030, highlighting GIFT City and infrastructure as primary drivers.
The tour continues in Toronto, Canada, where Patel is scheduled to hold a roundtable with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and meet with the CEO of the Business Council of Canada. Following these engagements and a visit to Niagara Falls, the Chief Minister will depart for Dubai on August 25.
