Republicans Lead Key Florida Races in New Polling
Republican candidates Byron Donalds and Ashley Moody hold leads in Florida's governor and Senate races according to recent NBC and Mason-Dixon polls.
Recent polling indicates that Republicans maintain significant leads in key Florida races ahead of the November 3 elections. Byron Donalds leads Democratic challenger David Jolly for governor, with an NBC South Florida/Telemundo poll placing him 7 percentage points ahead and a Mason-Dixon poll showing him at 48% to Jolly's 41%.
In the U.S. Senate race, Republican Ashley Moody holds a similar advantage over Democrat Angie Nixon. The NBC poll shows Moody leading by 10 points, while the Mason-Dixon survey places her at 50% compared to Nixon's 40%. Both Republican candidates maintain leads among Hispanic voters, though an NBC poll suggests a shift away from Donald Trump, whose job performance rating among Hispanics is underwater at 49% disapproval.
Inflation and the cost of living are the primary concerns for Florida voters, followed by the general direction of the state and country and immigration enforcement. Additionally, a Mason-Dixon survey found that 52% of Florida voters and 57% of Hispanic voters are less likely to support candidates who identify as democratic socialists. In a separate measure, 55% of voters support Amendment 3, a property tax exemption increase backed by Governor Ron DeSantis.
