Frederick Douglass Haynes III Poised to Win Texas 30th District
Democratic candidate Frederick Douglass Haynes III is expected to win Texas's 30th congressional district seat in the November midterm elections.
The Rev Dr Frederick Douglass Haynes III, senior pastor of Friendship-West Baptist Church, is poised to win the seat for Texas's 30th congressional district in the upcoming November midterm elections. Haynes is running to succeed Jasmine Crockett, who vacated the seat following an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate.
After securing a decisive primary victory, Haynes is expected to defeat Republican opponent Everett Jackson. His progressive platform emphasizes economic security through universal healthcare and living wages, the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and environmental justice to address pollution in vulnerable Dallas neighborhoods.
Haynes has also used his campaign to criticize U.S. foreign policy. He specifically condemned the U.S. government's support of Israel in Gaza, which he characterized as a "full-on genocide."
