JBL Launches Cove Whole-Home Wi-Fi Audio System

JBL launched the Cove whole-home Wi-Fi audio system on September 1, 2026, introducing a lineup of three wireless speakers: the compact M1, the portable P1, and the flagship X1. Managed via the JBL One app, the system allows users to operate speakers independently, as stereo pairs, or as a synchronized multi-room network. The lineup emphasizes ecosystem openness, supporting AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Roon Ready, and Alexa, alongside Bluetooth 5.3 with Auracast.

The Cove M1 serves as the entry-level model, priced between $219.95 and $229.95. The P1 is a portable, IP56-rated speaker with a 14-hour battery and Dolby Atmos support, priced at $399.95. The X1 is a high-performance 3.0.1-channel system with Dolby Atmos, with pricing reports varying between $379.95 and $500. While the M1 and P1 can integrate as wireless rear channels for JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars, the X1 lacks this backward compatibility.

Technical additions include proprietary room calibration, AI Sound Boost technology, and a Moment button that enables users to sync multiple speakers to a single stream without a mobile device. The products are available for preorder and will ship in the United States starting September 13, 2026, with availability in the United Kingdom expected in October.
