Holcim to Sell Philippines Business to Huaxin for $807 Million

Holcim Group agreed to sell its Philippines operations to China's Huaxin Building Materials in a phased deal valued at at least $807 million.

Holcim Group agreed to sell its business operations in the Philippines to China's Hebei Taihang Huaxin Building Materials Co. Ltd. in a transaction valued at a minimum of $807 million. The deal will be executed in two phases, beginning with the sale of a majority stake—approximately 68%—for $527 million. The remaining stake will be divested over three to five years for at least $280 million.

The divestment of the majority stake is expected to close in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals. This transaction follows a similar $1 billion sale of Holcim's Nigeria business to Huaxin in December 2024. Holcim Philippines had previously been taken private after its public float fell below the Philippine Stock Exchange's minimum requirements.

Holcim intends to use the proceeds to fund large acquisitions and reinvest in existing business segments. The company is currently shifting its strategic focus toward Europe, Latin America, North Africa, and Australia as part of a broader growth strategy that includes plans for approximately 15 deals in 2026. This move allows the group to optimize its global portfolio by exiting non-strategic areas to focus on sustainable construction solutions.
