Bill Maher May Vote for JD Vance in 2028

Bill Maher said he would consider voting for Vice President JD Vance in 2028 if the Democratic Party remains aligned with socialist radicals.

Comedian and HBO host Bill Maher stated in an interview with ABC News that his vote for the 2028 presidential election is in play. Maher expressed a willingness to vote for Vice President JD Vance if the Democratic Party continues its shift toward the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), an organization he characterized as communist rather than socialist.

Maher described Democratic leadership as cowardly and argued that the party is being overtaken by radicals. He specifically cited the DSA platform's goals of taking over key industries and the abolition of the Senate, police, and prisons as evidence of this shift. He further criticized the party's perceived support for the intifada. While he believes Democrats will perform well in the 2026 midterms as a referendum on Donald Trump, he views 2028 as a different scenario since Trump cannot run again.

These criticisms align with warnings from former Clinton advisers Mark Penn and Jamie Metzl. Metzl described the DSA as a fundamental threat to the party and the country, while Penn called for lawmakers and law enforcement to investigate whether the organization is funded by foreign governments and interests.
