Maharashtra Establishes Ministerial Task Force for Drone Policy
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced a ministerial task force to consolidate drone research, manufacturing, and incentives while accelerating the development of a Drone City.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the creation of a ministerial task force to implement the drone policy of Maharashtra and resolve industry-specific challenges. Headed by Minister Ashish Shelar, the task force is designed to create a consolidated framework that integrates research and development, indigenous component manufacturing, testing, patents, and financial incentives into a single policy.
During a meeting at Sahyadri Guest House, Fadnavis directed officials to accelerate the development of a Drone City in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. He further urged the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation to develop a special incentive policy to improve land availability for the industry over the next two to three years.
The initiative aims to strengthen the state's drone ecosystem by providing financial assistance for testing expenses. This support will remain in place until state laboratories are fully established and operational.
