859,760 Voters Cause Heavy Traffic in Negeri Sembilan Election

Heavy traffic congestion occurred across Negeri Sembilan on August 1, 2026, as approximately 859,760 eligible voters returned to their hometowns for the 16th state election. The surge of vehicles created bottlenecks at several hotspots, including the Seremban-Tampin route, the Seremban-Kuala Pilah road through Bukit Putus, and roads leading to Kuala Klawang in Jelebu.

Midday rain and high vehicle volumes at toll plazas compounded the delays. Roslan Mohamed@Ab Aziz, the Chief of the Negeri Sembilan Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, reported that traffic remained under control as of 2:00 p.m. He noted that traffic personnel were deployed to key locations to manage the flow and mitigate delays at toll plazas.

The election involves voting for representatives across 36 state assembly seats to determine the next state government.
