Amazon Names Uber Eats Official Prime Delivery Partner
Amazon has partnered with Uber Eats to provide Prime subscribers in the United States with integrated restaurant delivery and zero delivery fees on qualifying orders.
Amazon.com has appointed Uber Eats as the official restaurant delivery partner for Amazon Prime subscribers in the United States. Prime members can now order takeout through the Amazon app or website using their existing payment methods, removing the requirement to create a separate Uber account.
The partnership provides zero delivery fees on orders of 25 dollars or more. To mark the launch, both companies are offering 20 dollars off the first order of 25 dollars or more during the first two weeks of the initiative.
This agreement terminates Amazon's previous commercial relationship with Grubhub, which had provided Prime members with free Grubhub+ subscriptions. Amazon had previously increased its equity stake in Grubhub before cashing out its warrants in December 2024.
For Uber Technologies Inc., the deal grants access to millions of Prime shoppers as it competes against the merged entity of DoorDash and Instacart. The partnership builds upon an existing relationship between the two firms involving Alexa+ integration, Zoox robotaxis, and cloud computing.
