U.S. States Prepare for November Midterm Elections

Voters in Pennsylvania and Alabama prepare for November midterm elections as mail-in ballot deadlines approach and candidate campaigns intensify.

Voters across the United States are preparing for the November 3 midterm elections. In Pennsylvania, the deadline to apply for civilian absentee or mail-in ballots is October 27. These contests include races for governor, the state House and Senate, and local elections in the 8th and 9th Congressional Districts.

Bif Naked, the Lackawanna County Elections Director, advised Pennsylvania voters to apply for their ballots online or in person to ensure they have access to the vote.

In Alabama, the political landscape is focused on a governor's race between Republican nominee Tommy Tuberville and Democratic candidate Doug Jones. Additionally, Republican Bradley Byrne is running for a U.S. Senate seat, while Democrat Shomari Figures is seeking reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Separately, the Parnelli Awards have opened online voting for their 25th annual ceremony. The industry awards, which recognize achievements in lighting, sound, and staging, will be held on January 29, 2027, at the Anaheim Hilton in California, with voting remaining open until December 11.
