Israeli Forces Demolish Homes in West Bank Villages

The Government of Israel carried out multiple demolition operations across the occupied West Bank on September 24, 2026, targeting both a specific family residence and entire community structures.

In the village of Beit Imrin, northwest of Nablus, military forces used explosives to destroy the family home of Palestinian detainee Dawwas Hassoun. The demolition followed an August order linked to a March 21 vehicle-ramming attack that killed an Israeli colonizer. Hassoun, currently in custody, denies the charges and claims the collision was an accident.

Simultaneously, Israeli forces demolished 24 homes and 16 agricultural buildings in the village of Janba, located in the Masafer Yatta region. The operation displaced 176 Palestinians, including 85 children, and destroyed solar panels and water tanks. This action follows similar demolitions in Khirbet al-Taban on September 2 and Khirbet al-Fakhit later that month.

Israeli authorities justified the Janba demolitions by stating the buildings were illegal structures located within Firing Zone 918, a military training area. However, the rights organization B’Tselem characterized the displacements as part of a mechanism of ethnic cleansing and territorial takeover. United Nations data indicates that more than 1,600 Palestinians have been displaced by demolitions across the occupied territories as of September 23, 2026.
