Pentagon Reports 757 U.S. Service Members Wounded in Iran Operations
The United States Department of Defense reported 757 service members wounded since February during operations against Iran, with most suffering traumatic brain injuries.
The United States Department of Defense reported that 757 U.S. service members have been wounded since operations against Iran began in February. The casualty count includes more than 580 Army soldiers, 86 sailors, 64 airmen, and 19 Marines.
Most of these injuries occurred during the conflict formally designated as Operation Epic Fury. However, the Pentagon established a new Overseas Operations category in late July to classify casualties resulting from strikes that occurred after Operation Epic Fury concluded.
U.S. officials stated that the vast majority of the wounded suffered traumatic brain injuries. Despite the release of these figures, the Department of Defense and U.S. Central Command have provided few details regarding the specific causes of the injuries or the extent of the damage sustained by U.S. bases.
