Suvendu Adhikari Orders Arrests Over Subhash Chandra Bose Insults

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari ordered police to arrest individuals making derogatory social media comments about Subhash Chandra Bose. Adhikari demanded that those responsible delete their posts and issue apologies, stating that the law applies equally to government officials, MPs, and MLAs.

The directive follows comments by BJP MP Nagendranath Roy, who described Bose as a "war criminal" and questioned the role of the Azad Hind Fauj in India's independence.

In a separate move to honor the leader, Adhikari directed all MLAs to establish public service centers in their constituencies named Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Seva Kendra. The state will provide 30,000 rupees per month to operate these centers, which must display a state-supplied portrait of Bose in traditional attire.
