The State Bank of Pakistan reported a slight increase in total liquid foreign exchange reserves to approximately $26.8 billion for the week ending October 2.
The State Bank of Pakistan reported that total liquid foreign exchange reserves increased to $26,797.4 million for the week ending October 2, 2026. This figure represents a modest rise from the $26,770.9 million recorded the previous week.
The growth was supported by increases across both central and commercial sectors. The central bank's own reserves rose by approximately $14.5 million to $15 million, reaching a total of $21,453.7 million. Simultaneously, reserves held by commercial banks increased by $12 million to reach $5,343.7 million.
In a separate action earlier in October, the Monetary Policy Committee of the State Bank of Pakistan decided to maintain the benchmark interest rate at 11.5%. This decision followed an assessment of current economic indicators to determine the appropriate monetary stance.
