Aldi UK Seeks New Store Sites in Hampshire and Cheshire

Aldi UK is seeking new supermarket sites across Hampshire and Cheshire as part of a broader £370 million national investment in new stores this year. The retailer is calling for landowners and agents to propose freehold, leasehold, or long leasehold sites with high visibility and access.

In Hampshire, the supermarket is specifically targeting Winchester, Chineham in Basingstoke, north Portsmouth, Park Gate in Fareham, and Aldershot. In Cheshire, the company is seeking locations in Hartford, Handforth, and West Widnes. This regional push supports a long-term goal to grow the company's UK estate from 1,080 to 1,500 sites.

Company officials stated the expansion will create local jobs with national hourly pay starting at £13.50. Jonathan Neale, the managing director of national real estate, noted that the company is focused on identifying communities that would benefit most from new stores to ensure access to affordable, high-quality food.
