Apple Releases iOS 27.2 and macOS Golden Gate Betas

Apple released the fourth developer beta of iOS 27.2 and macOS 27.2 Golden Gate on October 13 and 14, 2026. The iOS update features a redesigned Health app, dual capture mode for Group FaceTime, and expanded Siri AI language support for Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, and French. Interface changes were also applied to Apple Music and Apple Podcasts, and the Apple TV app now includes iPhone profiles.

Concurrent with these releases, the company launched AirPods Firmware 9.1 beta 2. This firmware follows previous beta versions that introduced an Adaptive mode slider, custom EQ controls, and a redesigned settings interface. Apple warned developers that beta firmware cannot be downgraded until a non-beta version is released.

On the desktop side, the macOS 27.2 Golden Gate beta arrived eight days after the previous iteration. Apple also seeded second release candidates for macOS Tahoe 26.7.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.2. These updates follow the general launch of iOS 27 in September, while iOS 27.1 remains a specialized release for the iPhone Duo foldable display.
