Digital Realty and Freeport-McMoRan Report AI-Driven Growth

Digital Realty Trust and Freeport-McMoRan reported quarterly earnings reflecting the impacts of AI infrastructure demand and commodity price increases.

Digital Realty Trust and Freeport-McMoRan reported quarterly financial results highlighting the influence of artificial intelligence infrastructure and shifting commodity markets. Digital Realty Trust saw revenue increase 29% to $1.92 billion, prompting the company to raise its full-year guidance. This growth followed a $3.5 billion deal to acquire larger stakes in three Northern Virginia data centers from Blackstone, as the company benefited from direct leasing demand and rent increases exceeding 25% for renewing tenants.

Freeport-McMoRan beat earnings expectations with 74 cents per share, though it faced operational setbacks. The company reported an 18.2% decline in copper production caused by a deadly mud flow disaster at the Grasberg mine in Indonesia, which resulted in $363 million in repair costs. Despite the volume drop, Freeport-McMoRan achieved financial gains driven by a 41.5% year-over-year increase in copper prices.
