OpenAI, Anthropic and SpaceX Valuations Surpass $5 Trillion
OpenAI, Anthropic and SpaceX have reached a combined valuation exceeding $5 trillion, driving massive growth for hardware providers despite recent SpaceX stock volatility.
The combined valuations of OpenAI, Anthropic, and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) now exceed $5 trillion, surpassing the total value of all initial public offerings from 1980 through 2025. OpenAI is raising cash at a $1.2 trillion valuation with an IPO target of 2027, while Anthropic holds a potential $2 trillion valuation and may go public as early as next month.
SpaceX maintains a market capitalization of approximately $2.1 trillion, though its stock price recently declined 32% from a peak of $225 to $152.71. Despite this volatility, SpaceX Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk forecasts $1 trillion in annual revenue by 2030, and Chief Financial Officer Bret Johnsen targets a $100 billion annual run-rate for the company's AI business by the end of 2026.
This valuation boom has propelled hardware providers, with Nvidia reaching a $5.5 trillion valuation and Micron seeing a stock price increase of over 1,100% in two years. Meanwhile, Alphabet Inc. reports strong AI-integrated growth, with Google Cloud revenue surging 82% to $24.8 billion in the second quarter of 2026.
Amidst the financial surge, Anthropic leader Dario Amodei has called for AI labs to slow the development of high-powered models, citing safety concerns and the risk of abuse by authoritarian regimes.
