Adani Energy Solutions Wins Rs 4,700 Crore Maharashtra Project

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. won a Rs 4,700 crore contract to build transmission infrastructure moving 4,500 MW of renewable energy from Karnataka to Maharashtra.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) won a Rs 4,700 crore transmission project in Maharashtra through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. The project, managed under the special purpose vehicle Satara Power Transmission Ltd, will evacuate 4,500 MW of renewable and storage power from Karnataka to major load centers in Maharashtra, including Pune and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Scheduled for completion within 36 months, the infrastructure includes a 765/400 kV substation at Satara, a Kolhapur-Satara 765 kV double-circuit transmission line, and the augmentation of the Kolhapur pooling station. This expansion adds 562 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 9,000 MVA of transformation capacity to the company's portfolio. The project specifically supports the pumped storage ecosystem in Satara, Pune, and Mumbai to help India reach its goal of 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030.

This win increases AESL's cumulative transmission network to 29,739 circuit kilometres and its total transformation capacity to 1,43,425 MVA. The company's total transmission order book now stands at approximately Rs 85,000 crore.
