India and Jordan Target $5 Billion Trade by 2030
India and Jordan agreed to increase bilateral trade to $5 billion by 2030 during a meeting in Doha to expand economic engagement.
India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Jordan's Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Zeid Toukan met on September 28, 2026, in Doha, Qatar, to expand economic ties. The ministers set a target to increase bilateral trade to $5 billion by 2030, noting that India is currently the fourth-largest trading partner for Jordan.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation across several key sectors, including food security, fertilizers, energy, water, and infrastructure projects. Minister Toukan expressed a specific interest in attracting more Indian investment into Jordan, describing India as a "critical market" for the country.
