UAE Envoy Badr Jafar Strengthens Economic Ties in Singapore
Badr Jafar visited Singapore to expand bilateral partnerships in advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, and philanthropy following the 17th Abu Dhabi-Singapore Joint Forum.
Special Envoy of the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs for Business and Philanthropy Badr Jafar visited Singapore from October 7 to 9, 2026, to deepen economic and philanthropic cooperation. During the three-day visit, Jafar met with leaders from universities, philanthropic organizations, and investment institutions, including Temasek and the Singapore Economic Development Board.
The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, and the responsible application of emerging technologies. This diplomatic effort follows the 17th Abu Dhabi-Singapore Joint Forum, where both nations established a memorandum of understanding on investment and a letter of intent to create an industrial corridor between Abu Dhabi and Singapore.
The United Arab Emirates remains the largest trading partner for Singapore within the Middle East, with bilateral goods trade totaling US$43.71 billion in 2025. Jafar stated that the objective is to move beyond a strong bilateral foundation toward practical partnerships across talent, enterprise, and strategic philanthropy to foster growth across connected markets.
